We are currently looking for a Lead WordPress Developer (all genders) based in Berlin or working remotely in Europe

Your mission with us:

As our Website Platform Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic and technical leadership of Lingoda’s public website. You will own its architecture, ensure high-performing and scalable delivery, In this role, you will lead a cross-functional team of experts across custom development, CMS operations, and funnel performance optimization.

This role is critical to improving our student experience, driving growth through optimised conversion funnels, and ensuring we can deliver high-quality content at scale. You will bring deep technical expertise in web architecture and development while acting as a key bridge between  Product, Marketing, and Engineering — ensuring alignment, governance, and execution.

This role will report to the Head of Engineering B2C.

Your tasks:

  • Own the technical and architectural direction of the Lingoda website (WordPress, plugins, infrastructure)
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of CMS managers and engineers responsible for content delivery and conversion funnel improvements
  • Define and implement team governance, operating models, and workflows to ensure consistent delivery, scalability, and align communication
  • Act as the main point of contact for Product and Marketing teams regarding web development, performance, and implementation
  • Manage work intake and prioritisation across content updates, pricing engine changes, campaign rollouts, and funnel experiments.
  • Align stakeholder needs and demands with focus on impact reg. Website/Application  functionality, profitability and student experience/usability
  • Support and supervise the delivery of technical SEO, caching optimisation, performance monitoring and robustness improvements
  • Oversee collaboration with external engineering partner agencies, scaling support as needed based on project workload
  • Champion and role model best practices in quality, code, accessibility, performance, and collaboration
  • Lead a team (3-6 members) of cross-functional specialists, guiding them through the transition to the new operating model, ensuring alignment and clarity across stakeholders

You bring to Lingoda

  • 5+ years of experience leading website teams in a performance marketing context, with a strong focus on WordPress-based architecture and marketing performance (B2C high-traffic website experience preferable)
  • Experienced team manager of managing teams up to 10 people
  • Deep technical experience in web development (WordPress administration, custom plugins, performance tuning, CDN strategies, caching and server management)
  • Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience setting up and optimising team operations, process, governance, and delivery workflows to ensure high quality and uptimes.
  • Familiarity with marketing and product collaboration models, including agile planning, sprint management, and rapid iteration
  • A pragmatic and proactive mindset, comfortable balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform evolution - balancing business requirements and technical processes to deliver results and achieve success
  • Strong sense of ownership whilst positively driving change and bringing your team along the mission
  • Bonus: experience with headless CMS, CI/CD pipelines, or service-based architectures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Very strong in balancing business requirements and technical processes to deliver results and achieve success
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluent English skills (C-level)
