TL;DR

🤓 Photoroom is looking for a seasoned engineer who has experience building easy-to-use public web APIs. You will work on an API used by dozens of companies, leveraging Photoroom's technology to power their apps. 💰70k€-110k€* depending on experience + Stock-Options/BSPCE

🇪🇺 We are flexible: you can work from anywhere in Europe and come once a month in Paris (fully reimbursed), or come to the office more often.

✈️ We offer substantial support for relocation (up to 10k€), including finding an apartment in Paris and supporting you with the visa procedure.

🛂 We currently sponsor visas for individuals relocating to France or already based here. We are unable to sponsor visas for remote positions outside of France at this time.

✨ About the role ✨

  • You will be responsible for the design and development of our public API product (photoroom.com/api/) , used by dozens of companies to integrate Photoroom's technology in their products (Doordash, Warner Bros, etc...). Our Image Editing API enables anyone to easily create high-quality images with a variety of AI-powered features including background removal, AI shadows, AI backgrounds…
  • You will collaborate with the product team to prioritize and implement the most impactful features for the API. This includes adding new features, ensuring robustness of existing ones, minimizing downtime, and ensuring our documentation is top-notch.
  • You will get fast feedback from API users and will iterate quickly (we update the API several times a week). You will follow the usage of the API and make decisions based on that.
  • You will work within a small multicultural team composed of ~80 passionate, friendly & committed folks.

✨ You might thrive in this role if: ✨

  • You have 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing APIs used by external partners (not just internal APIs).
  • You have a thorough experience with the OpenAPI standard.
  • You have experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • You are always the most pragmatic person in the room. You favor speed of iteration over perfection, always leveraging frameworks and libraries to avoid reinventing the wheel.
  • You have a strong sense of ownership and collaboration. You take initiative and are at ease making product & technical decisions while working effectively with the product team.
  • You have a deep understanding of API reliability and are committed to maintaining high standards of uptime, performance, and consistency.
  • You have worked as part of a talented team and have experience in a fast-growing startup.
  • Bonus point if you have worked on image editing pipelines.
  • Bonus point if you have created integrations for an API (no-code, custom integrations).
  • You are fluent in English (French is not required!).
