(Fully remote, async-first, dev-tools, timezones: GMT +/- 3 hours, full time or part time (at least 32h/week))

Join Checkly, a Gartner Cool Vendor, as a Senior Full Stack Engineer and be at the forefront of the Monitoring as Code (MaC) movement. We're a remote-first startup on a mission to enable developers to detect and resolve issues 10x faster with code-first synthetic monitoring for modern DevOps. Monitor your APIs and apps at a fraction of the price of legacy providers. Powered by a Monitoring as Code workflow and Playwright.

Thousands of developers are using Checkly today, including those at 1Password, Autodesk, AutoTrader, Deno, Render, Sentry, and Vercel.

  • We deploy ~20 times per day to production on average.
  • We use Vue / Node.js / Postgres / AWS / ClickHouse.
  • We're processing ~4000 API and Browser checks per minute now.
  • We don't do daily sync stand ups. We keep meetings to a minimum.
  • We work in small teams, with devs, product and design mixed together.
  • We have over 1,000 paying customers challenging us every day.
  • We have an onboarding plan for every new joiner.

What you’ll do

Harden & expand our backend

Our backend runs on Hapi.js and a AWS based monitoring infrastructure, distributed around the globe. We ran over 2.5 billion checks already and are ramping up for a lot more.

You will help us build out new features and expand existing features. We have a TON of exciting stuff lined up (check out our public roadmap). You’ll work on scaling our current backend platform to meet the demands of our growing business.

Help build & shape our frontend

You will also be working together with our frontend engineers and designers on our Vue.js based frontend to ship amazing new features and disrupt the monitoring industry.

About you

  • You have deep experience in building applications in a professional product (SaaS) environment ideally with JavaScript / Node.js.
  • You like to have business impact and the instant visibility that a start up offers
  • You like to work in a growing company with experienced founders
  • You assume good intentions and are a great communicator in spoken and written English
  • You have the ability to be autonomous and self-motivated in a remote work environment, while you also enjoy getting to know your colleagues and helping others
  • You are quick to pick up on new stuff and enjoy the process of learning new things
  • You love making software!
  • Located in UTC-3 to UTC+3

What we pay

Fair, competitive, and transparent pay is very important for us. Therefore we work with a standardized salary calculator that includes several factors such as seniority level as well as location.

For this role, the range is

  • €87k - €97k for someone in a similar cost of market as UK, Germany etc.
  • €78k - €87k for someone in a similar cost of market as Spain, Poland, Ukraine etc.
