DevOps Engineer
Job Description
At Platomics, the DevOps Engineer will need to seamlessly collaborate with our software developers, release managers, and other IT professionals to support code releases. You will be bridging the gaps between our software development, testing, and operations, fostering an environment of harmony and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Engaging and enhancing the life-cycle of applications on Kubernetes from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Maintaining services in production by measuring and monitoring their availability, latency, and overall system health, ensuring optimal performance.
- Scaling systems through automation and continually improve their reliability and velocity.
- Enabling developers to manage their workloads efficiently through GitOps and CI/CD, streamlining their workflow and boosting productivity.

What you bring to the table
- 3+ years of experience in related field
- Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration or networking
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges
- Strong desire to build infrastructure as code
- Strong knowledge of container technologies (e.g., Docker) and and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Basic understanding of Ansible for automation and configuration management
- Basic understanding of networking
- Basic understanding of virtualization technologies such as KVM
- Basic understanding of cloud providers like AWS, Azure
- Familiarity with version control systems
- Ability to write and understand scripts in Bash or Python
- Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
Nice to have:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in IT Engineering, computer science, information technology, information sciences or related field or equivalent job experience
- Familiarity with security best practices in a DevOps context (DevSecOps)
- Ownership skills
- Able to work with compliance and regulatory requirements
