As a Junior Software QA Engineer at Paymentology you will contribute to the software development lifecycle by ensuring software products meet specified requirements, are defect-free, and function correctly before release. You will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying and reporting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

Requirement Analysis

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand software requirements and acceptance criteria.

Planning and Execution

  • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining software test plans and automation frameworks.
  • Help develop test plans and strategies based on project specifications and timelines.
  • Create detailed test cases and scripts to verify software functionality, performance, and security.
  • Analyse testing results to improve software quality.
  • Execute manual and automated test scripts to verify software products' functionality, performance, and scalability.
  • Support test automation through basic programming.
  • Identify, prioritise, and report software defects using issue-tracking systems.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure stability.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of test activities, including test plans, test scripts, defect reports, and test results.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work with cross-functional teams to debug issues, analyse testing results, and resolve defects.
  • Suggest improvements to testing methodologies, tools, and practices.

What it takes to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields is preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience or internship in software testing or a related field.
  • Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • A basic understanding of software testing methodologies, processes, and best practices is essential.
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes including Selenium Web Driver and C# or JS testing tools.
  • Ability to write and understand code for developing and maintaining automated test scripts.
  • Knowledge of SQL query language and scripting and database concepts.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
